A mysterious encounter on a dark highway sets two lonely people on a course of discovery.
Sara's humdrum world is turned upside down when she meets a stranger who says he knows her from the past and that she'd disappeared without a trace twenty years ago. She's bewildered and confused; why would someone play such a cruel prank on her?
Jack spent nearly two decades searching for her. But when he finally locates her, he is faced with a gut-wrenching discovery: Sara has absolutely no memory of him - or their life together.
Like a puzzle, Jack and Sara must piece back together the shreds of a life that was ripped apart. Their heartwarming story is one about loss, loneliness, and renewed love.
If you choose to download my book for free, all I ask in return is an honest review on Amazon and/or Goodreads!
My 6th novel is available! (This book was actually the first one I ever wrote) The "FROM the AUTHOR" note on Amazon explains it all:
SONG OF MEMORYis near and dear to my heart for so many reasons. I wrote the story while still home-schooling my youngest son (who is now 28 years old) As some of you know, this book was put on hold (or stuffed under my bed) for too many reasons to mention here... But last January (2014) I began the long process of re-writing - finishing up by October...(and then we moved...again...) After all the blood, sweat, and tears, and dragging the manuscript around from Wisconsin to Kansas City - to Davenport, Iowa - and back to Wisconsin...(three places mind you) it's finally done!
Even though this is my 6th published novel...it is actually my very
FIRST BOOK!
Here's hoping you all like it!
I’ve been known to lose things now and then. Most often it’s something small - like
earrings, sunglasses, or keys. Occasionally
a lone sock vanishes without a trace. Eventually these thingswill be found, replaced or forgotten. But some things that disappear are
people.
And apparently - I’m one of them.
What do you do when you’re finally found, but you didn’t
even know you were missing?
JACK:
I’ve lost my share of things. Most were nonessential, like
pocket change, gloves, and an umbrella.
I once lost my favorite old fishing hat when it blew right off my head
and out to sea. But some things that disappear are irreplaceable; perhaps the most
valuable thing in your life - like your wife. What do you do if you’re
fortunate enough to finally find her, but she has absolutely no memory of you?
Song of Memory is a heartwarming story about two lonely people
who, after nearly twenty years of separation, attempt to piece together exactly
what happened to rip them apart.
This may be old news for some of you, but this book is actually the very first book I ever wrote...many, many years ago... Last January (2014) I finally started the massive re-write that it really needed.
I had planned to have it published by fall, but then... we decided to buy a house:
And we moved in exactly 3 days before Thanksgiving...
Yes, we had dinner here with the kids and grand kids...
Then came all the unpacking...
and then Christmas...
(Notice there are absolutely NO ornaments on the tree...since I hadn't found the bin they were in yet.)
Finally... got back to my proof...and went to work...proofing...and I just finished yesterday...
Now awaiting my final copy before the big publication day!
Here's the whole cover, ISBN and all!
Song of Memory is a heartwarming story about two lonely people who, after nearly twenty years of separation, attempt to piece together exactly what happened to rip them apart. For those of you who haven't seen the book trailer, here is your chance:
I promise to post links to Amazon the moment the book is available.
Smashwords edition will be available soon thereafter.
What's next, you ask? I'm working on two more time-travel novels. One of them would be considered time-travel-romance, the other, time-travel-adventure...
Can you tell which is which by the pictures?
This beauty will be featured in
Island of Time
And the picture above is the one that inspired me to write
Garden of Time
My totally awesome artist friend, Martina Avery-Perry has already started working on her rendition of it for my cover.
Here's a tiny corner of it for your viewing pleasure:
Isn't she super talented? Wait till you see the whole picture!!
Thanks for reading, and for your continued support and encouragement!
Howdie from beautiful Oregon! Just kidding. But since I've been immersed in rewriting and editing now for several months, it almost feels like I'm there. Not really. Notice I said almost. It totally feels like I'm in Wisconsin. I wish this was my view!
Oregon Coast
Believe it or not, I'm nearly ready to publish my 6th novel...which is actually the first book I ever wrote! And to answer the question I know you're dying to ask: Yes! I really DID have it under my bed all these years! If you've ever seen my Author Central Profile <---- clicky thing on Amazon, you'll get it. Actually, I had a copy of said novel on my computer too...saved and uploaded from my last computer to my current one. If you recall, I wrote this book WAY back when I was still homeschooling our youngest son... who is now twenty-eight. Which means I must have written it circa 1999. So, it's been A. L.O.N.G. T.I.M.E. C.O.M.I.N.G. Come on, you remember the story... I pulled the book out of it's dusty domain for the much needed rewrite and edits -way back in 2007. But then I had that awesome dream and I HAD to start writing the Ravenswynd Series: T.R.I.H. If you want to know what that acronym is, you'll have to ask! And just like in the previous rambling paragraph, I got side-tracked. But last winter/spring I told myself: Rewrite the dang book already. Get it published before the dang year is over already. Clean the crap out from under your bed already. I actually listened to myself! It. Is. Done. I'm waiting to hear from two of my beta-readers yet. (You know who you are) Once I get the go-ahead, I'll be uploading the document. In the meantime I thought you might like a bit of a teaser.
As in a book trailer.
So here it is.
What do you think? If you have trouble viewing the video, let me know and I'll send you the direct link to You-tube. Seriously. I WANT you to SEE the video. I stayed up till 4 a.m. last night re-doing it over and over and over. And then again today. Seriously. I deserve would greatly appreciate some dang feedback! Please. Thanks! Have a great week!
